Thai Forum

The Thai Forum at the University of Leeds was established in 2006 by Martin Seeger and runs two or three times a semester. It welcomes any students and staff with an interest in Thailand and Southeast Asia in general. Most of the forums focus on current research projects and interdisciplinary approaches in Thai Studies, promoting the understanding of cultural aspects and current issues in Thailand and its neighbouring countries.

Internationally recognised experts in the field of Thai Studies have attended the forum, as have Thai PhD students from various faculties. This forum has developed national and international recognition, connections and collaborations. In 2014 a former British Ambassador to Thailand gave a talk at the Thai Forum, which was sponsored by the Anglo-Thai Society and Thai Children's Trust, and even attended by the Thai Ambassador.

Upcoming events are listed on the Facebook page or you can contact our student intern Dew for more information at mlcu@leeds.ac.uk.
