Professor Eric Blair

Can you tell us about your research, work and expertise in Southeast Asia?

I have supervised several PhD students who have gone on to have academic or company posts in Malaysia and Singapore. Notable, my student Rohana Yusof was Deputy VC of University Malaya and is now DVC at UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. My student Paula Lam is Head of Special Projects (R&D) in CellVec Pte Ltd Singapore. My work with these people was concerned with viruses as causes and cures of cancer. I was lab-based focussing on molecular and cell biology techniques. I have been Visiting Professor in Biotechnology in UTM, Johor Bahru and I am also an academic advisor to UM.
