This paper investigates the significant shortcomings of the current Customer Due Diligence framework. Specifically, it critiques how the existing structures might inadvertently contribute to the financial exclusion of vulnerable and marginalised communities in Malaysia. Through this work, I aim to highlight the broader systemic flaws, encouraging legal and policy reforms that ensure equitable access to financial systems for all individuals.
