Before assuming her role as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, Dr. Ester Bolt served as a lecturer at Sunway University in Subang, Malaysia. During her tenure, she successfully secured research funding for her work on examining Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and their impact on nurses’ well-being in Malaysia. This ongoing research project involves the participation of multiple academics from Sunway University. Ester is also a co-supervisor for Kawtar Bahanni, a PhD student at Sunway University.

Prior to her position at Sunway University, Dr. Ester earned her Master’s and PhD degrees at Taylor’s University, Subang, Malaysia. She still collaborates with various academics from Taylor’s University on research projects on nurse well-being. Furthermore, Dr. Ester had the privilege of serving as a panel leader at the International Conference on Human Capital held at Taylor’s University in 2018.

Dr. Ester has a keen interest in conducting research on topics related to employment relations in Malaysia. Over the past years, she developed a deep affinity for Malaysia, fuelling her desire to contribute to the personal growth of students, universities, organisations and the country as a whole.
