Madeleine Lee - BA Economics
Madeleine Lee (BA Economics, 1984) has built a distinguished 38-year career in investment management, with experience at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Morgan Grenfell, and Commerzbank, before founding her own investment advisory firm in 2000. A Chartered Financial Analyst since 1989 and an Eisenhower Fellow (2002), she has served on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards, particularly in the education and arts sectors. She currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of First Pacific Company (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange), and GuocoLand Limited and Greenphyto Limited (both listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange).
In addition to her financial career, Madeleine is an accomplished poet. She has published 11 volumes of English poetry and one bilingual collection in English and Chinese. Her work has been widely anthologised, and she has read at literary festivals in Singapore and around the world. She is currently the Writer-in-Residence at The Raffles Hotel Singapore—the first Singaporean to hold this role.
